Obamacare’s broken promises

By Heritage Action Sentinel Ginny Quaglia

The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) is a list of broken promises and rate shock. North Carolina is feeling the sticker shock of a whopping 24 percent average increase in premiums. South Carolina is one of five states with only one carrier in 2017, with rates increasing 28 percent.

My premiums are three times higher than they were five years ago — $1,360 per month. It’s unsustainable for our family. Moreover, the enrollments at the federal exchange declined by 400,000 in 2016, a 4 percent decrease.

Obamacare is just not working at any level despite the promises of the past administration. The majority of voters last November mandated and expect a full and immediate repeal of Obamacare, which Republicans have promised us for seven years. They have won many elections on this promised action. They don’t want to see the fallout if they fail to keep those promises.

The Senate can repeal Obamacare with a simple majority through “budget reconciliation” under congressional rules. The Republicans are officially out of excuses for full repeal. Demand full repeal from Sens. Burr and Tillis and Rep. Rouzer, then replace with free market, patient-centered solutions. Call Congress: 202-224-3121.
